Steve Penhollow, writing for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, tried to cover the Presidential campaign from a different angle. He tried to talk with members of the national media traveling with Sen. Clinton as she campaigned in Fort Wayne. Security around them was apparently as tight as that for the candidate. Unapproachable and a little cranky seemed to be the theme. I guess as Marshall McLuhan noted, “the medium is the message.”

so at what point will bloggers be considered “media”? and the same status granted as to a small local news outlet? youtube=TV blogs=press podcasts=radio? youtube, blogs, and podcasts have global reach on the internet, and google, same as larger media. the trick is growing your readership/audience. how? by finagling interviews, and news stories, and access to press conferences, and govt public information. a bolg is merely an electronic version of the gutenberg printing press(johann, not steve, you goofs).

When a single site reaches as many people as a national TV station, they’ll get the coverage. Right now, there just isn’t enough room to allow all the millions of people with a web page (sorry, Doug) to get the same access.
Go check out Mark Cuban’s blog post on the subject . He talks about exactly the point you’re bringing up.
