George W. Bush’s second best press secretary, Tony Snow, has died of cancer. I don’t think he was as good at stonewalling and patronizing the press as Ari Fleischer, but he was certainly better than McClellan and Perrino. Condolences to his family.

Gee, almost as classy as the AP…

Eh?

I believe the comment by Parker is in reference to the AP write up on Tony where they stated he was rarely in command of the facts which is taking a shot a recently deceased person in some folks minds.Tony Snow was a decent guy from KY who just happens to be conservative.I often watched him when he was on FOX NEWS even though I didn’t always agree with him.
I hardly ever listen to White House Press secretarys I can’t think of a worse place to actually get information.I suspect being patronizing and being good at stonewalling is a job requirement no matter what party is in the White House.

Stonewalling anyway. Patronizing is just a bit of flair. Ari was better at it. If I’m going to pick on Snow, it’d be for his misguided opinions when he was speaking for himself — and I’ll wait to do that, if I even bother. As the mouthpiece for the Bush administration he’s just a tool of those using him and doesn’t deserve any credit or blame, particularly — other than for the skill with which he performs his function.
