Senator Long has introduced SB 1 which would basically continue appropriations at the level of the prior year if a budget wasn’t enacted for the current year. Seems to me like this would reduce the pressure for legislators to get their business taken care of and go home for the year.
The introduced bill seems to give the budget director a lot of power in determining the actual appropriations where there is some ambiguity as to the actual funding level.
how fast can you say DOA? and not only will it not even be considered in the house, i fail to see any political or strategic advantage for the senate repubs in this.
