I just had to give a shout out to the land of my childhood, Wayne County, for its outstanding work in attracting (or creating) divorced people.
More than 19 percent of Wayne County residents over age 15 are divorced, according to new 2008 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. That’s the highest percentage for any county with a population more than 65,000 in the nation, and two other Indiana counties — Floyd and Madison — also made the top 10.
My folks got divorced back in the early 70s, presumably before it was cool. I had no idea they were trendsetters.

It’s Mackenzie Phillip’s fault!!!!! And the rest of “One Day at a Time!”
Guess Schneider can’t fix this problem;-)

Not surprising that the divorce rate is high here, but more than a bit surprised that we lead the nation.

We’ve been married 33 years. I can’t help but feel we’ve let Wayne County down. :(

You’re a free rider, Rex!

Florida and Indiana both have 3 counties each of the top ten in the country with the highest divorce rates. So only 4 of these remaining 10 are somewhere else in the country.
The Florida counties are Pinellas ( Clearwater and St Petersburg) Monroe (Key West and Fl keys) and Putnam ( a rural county in the north FLorida Bible belt SW of Jacksonville).
Bush Administration spokes people took facts and statistics like these for 8 years and ‘proved’ that the Iraq war was being won. So what can be proven about Indiana-Florida in view of the above data? ..that they are similar states ‘morally’ maybe ?

Gay marriage is obviously to blame! ;-)

Well, duh.
