Rep. Gail Riecken is going to pull her bill to audit the privatized functions of FSSA in determining eligibility for welfare benefits. (More on that bill here.)
That’s probably good news. A special session should, in my mind, be reserved for bills that are critical to the functioning of the state. There is no legal requirement that this be the case, but that just seems like the right way to go about things. I think the General Assembly should dump this, dump the C.I.B. bill, pass a budget, and go home.
